Best Christmas Videos of 2013
Every year Eternity does a round up of the best Christmas videos floating around the web for churches to play in their Christmas services. Here are our picks for 2013!
St Paul’s Auckland – An Unexpected Christmas
This NZ church’s Christmas videos have become famous around the world for their cuteness. Featuring kid actors, this year’s video looks at God’s plan to reconcile sinners to himself.
Discovery Church – InstaChristmas
The Christmas story told through the clever splicing of instagram photos from around the world. Beautiful and engaging.
Garage Hymnal – Come One and All
Aussie christian band Garage Hymnal have released a video for their new Christmas single which is animated by Taste Media, depicting the Christmas story, based on the German Folk song ‘Oh Come Little Children’. Would be a good one to play as people come and sit down for the service.
Salvation Army – Just Jesus
The Salvos have released a new campaign for the Christmas period, which includes four videos. This is the first of the series. It plays on the theme of feasting at Christmas, with the message that only true satisfaction comes from Jesus.
Woodsedge Church – Simple Christmas
This video looks at the way we get caught up in the consumerism and busyness of Christmas and asks how would Jesus do Christmas? Simply, is the answer.
Worship Media – The Paradox of Christmas
Suited to a family service, this Disney-style animation points out the paradox of the Jesus who was the King, but who went unrecognised, who deserved glory, but who was lowly in a manger.
Dan Stevers – The Christmas Gospel
A powerful little video about the parallels between Jesus’ birth and his death (eg. born into wooden feeding trough;nailed to wooden cross). Highlights what Jesus came to do.
For other Christmas video ideas, Sydney blogger Steve Kryger on Communicate Jesus has also compiled a list here.
