Family of kidnapped missionaries in Burkina Faso plead for Ken and Jocelyn Elliot’s release | February 5th, 2016 12:17 PM
The family of Dr Ken and Jocelyn Elliot, the Australian missionary couple who were kidnapped in Burkina Faso almost three weeks ago, have issued another statement pleading for their release.
The Elliott family would like to thank all the supporters of Ken & Jocelyn, our parents, who were taken from their home at the Clinique Chirugicale in Djibo on the night of Friday, the 15th of January 2016. We love them and are thinking of them.
For over 40 years, our parents have dedicated their lives to helping people from Djibo, Burkina Faso, Mali and beyond, who are most in need of their medical skills.
We are grateful to the people of Djibo for the peaceful and positive demonstrations of affection you have expressed toward Dr and Madame Elliott.
To those who are holding our parents, we bear no malice against you. Our parents are good people who always seek to help those in need. We ask that you look after them and be kind to them. The community would be grateful if they were returned to continue their life’s work of helping the poor and the sick.
The family remain ready to listen to anyone who has information to help secure their return.
There has been no news on the whereabouts of the couple and no one has yet come forward to claim responsibility for the kidnapping.
Please continue to pray for Ken and Jocelyn Elliot, and their family in Western Australia.
