This week in Christian music two Aussie acts prepare to release milestone projects.
The five-piece group This Sanctuary is set to release their début album Keep Talking, Please.
Earlier this month, the group performed at the Blackstump music and arts festival and released its début single Rumour. The song has been chosen as an anthem for the latest anti-bullying campaign in Australian schools.
Lead singer Renee Sieff says the band’s music is an eclectic fusion of meaningful pop, heavily influenced by day-to-day experiences such as building better self esteem, and helping fans feel better connected and accepted within one’s family and community.
In Sydney, there are many expressions of worship coming out of the church. As the name suggests, Garage Hymnal like to mix contemporary pop and Scripture to create a unique style of “worship music” for the church.
This week, the eight piece ensemble releases its first national radio single called First Loved Me. It’s a praise and worship song from its new EP Bird In A Winter Storm, out next month. Keyboardist Andy Judd says the band aims to help churches develop their own music and worship ministries.
