Were there camels in ancient Israel?
The Bible’s been in the paper recently, with popular Fairfax columnist Sam De Brito arguing archeological evidence about camels in ancient times disproves the Bible. His claims have been challenged by Sydney-based Old Testament scholar George Athas over at ABC Religion, who brings to light some other evidence which suggests camels were around Israel in Old Testament times. Speaking of the Bible, a study of visits to BibleGateway.com in 2013 reveals what people from different countries are looking for in the Book of Books. Psalm 23 and Genesis 1 are apparently the most popular searches among 10 countries including India and the US. China is big on the gospels, while people from Russia search 1 Corinthians 13 a lot.
