This week, an Australian church gains a significant musical achievement, and a Melbourne band seeks to become a positive influence with Aussie youth.
At Christmas time last year, Hillsong’s single Born is The King topped the Christian charts. This year it’s gaining a significantly wider audience with Hillsong servicing the song to mainstream radio throughout Australia and NZ.
Sony Music has given the song an “esteemed place” on its annual So Fresh album, a Christmas compilation which features songs from popular mainstream artists.
Hillsong’s Ben Fielding says this is an “incredible thing” for the music team and the church.
Born Is The King is also included on the new Hillsong album, ‘We Have A Saviour‘.
Like the best summer anthems of all time, Summer Love from Daylight Hours is defined by its sing-a-long factor and infectious pop hooks.
Produced by Matt Malpass (Relient K, Train), this is a nostalgic ode to summertime, the beach, surfing, young love, innocence and hope – “the best days of my life” as someone once sang.
Lead singer Phil Gruska says the band aims to be a “positive influence”.
