The Australian Open 2017 will go down in history books as a big win for veteran players. No matter who actually wins out of the Williams sisters, or Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, the triumph of Australia’s biggest tennis tournament has been its celebration of great players.
The youngest player to ever win a Grand Slam, the now 44-year-old Michael Chang is another great player who has been deeply involved at the Australian Open. No longer out on centre court, International Tennis Hall of Fame inductee Chang coaches World No. 5 player, Kei Nishikori.
Eternity scored an exclusive interview with Chang in Melbourne this week. Watch the video to learn more about veteran player Chang’s relationship with Nishikori, as well as his expert thoughts on the incredible Men’s Final line-up of Nadal and Federer.
But there is something more meaningful to Chang than winning the French Open when he was 17 – or all the fame and endorsements which followed. More than a memorable serve or match, Chang hopes he can positively impact the lives of people, on God’s behalf.
