Best known for playing Suri (the sassy sister of prince T’Challa/Black Panther), Wright cheekily tweeted her frustration over the selective reporting of her interviews.

Eternity reported this week on South African Springboks captain Siya Kolisi being quoted in interviews about how his faith in Jesus Christ fuels what he does. But this doesn’t seem to be the experience of rising screen star Wright (who also stars in the Netflix series Black Mirror). Without identifying any media organisation, Wright evidently believes her own Christian faith is being sidelined by reporters.

A minor challenge to Wright’s playful tweet – which was liked by almost 14,000 – is how a God-filled speech she gave last year was widely reported.

Just check the internet for what happened when she was crowned ‘Rising Star’ at the 2018 BAFTAs (British Academy Film Awards).

“I identify myself as a child of God and I can’t get up here without thanking God,” Wright said in her acceptance speech, going on to explain how God helped her through a painful personal time.

“A few years ago, I saw myself in a deep state of depression and I literally wanted to quit acting,” Wright told BAFTA guests. “The only thing that pulled me out of it was God, my belief, my faith and my family, and an email from BAFTA asking me to become part of the BAFTA Breakthrough Brits.”
