Barnabas Fund (BF) is a worldwide international aid agency, serving the global persecuted Church by channelling practical aid to suffering Christians in over 80 countries. This vital position calls for an individual to lead and manage the organisation within the policies and strategic vision of our National Board members and International Directors.

What will you be doing

In this rewarding role, you will be guiding the direction and growth of BF Australia, authorised by International Directors. Your responsibilities will include overseeing recruitment, training and the management of BF Australia staff. You will head up the development of BF’s relationship with local churches and Christian NGO’s, leading the way on events, exhibitions, and speaking engagements on behalf of BF. You will be responsible for the management of IT systems, policies and contracts, with direction from the head office. This is a responsible position in which the post holder will relate to a wide range of people from different cultures and backgrounds.  

What you will need

As CEO, you will lead staff and the company in the spirit of Barnabas Fund’s international statement of faith, with the following qualities:

  • A strong faith in the God of the Bible and the power of the Holy Spirit, and prayer through the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • A sense of calling to leadership in the ministry.
  • Humility balanced by a sense of purpose to motivate and empower others.

Other qualities

  • A leader who is a team player.
  • Sensitivity and experience in cross cultural contexts and communications.
  • Good business-sense and ability to coordinate diverse areas of management.
  • Discernment in assessing and determining priorities.
  • Integrity and experience of senior management of a medium size organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong inter-personal gifts.
  • A capable speaker.
  • Knowledge of and interest in the persecuted Church and awareness in current affairs.
  • Experience of fund raising, with knowledge of financial management.
  • Initiative and drive combined with sensitivity and diplomatic skills.
  • Experience of change management.

Salary is dependent on skills and experience.

You will be working full-time in the Barnabas Fund Australia office, with the possibility of travel to the UK international office.
