Next Steps Early Learning Centre aims to set the standard in education and care within the industry by creating a culture based on traditional Christian values of acceptance, respect, trust, honesty and integrity. Next Steps was one of the first services in Victoria to employ a chaplain, and in our short history we have developed a strong reputation for the outstanding care and support we provide our children and families within the community.

Our service promotes a nature-based curriculum, with large open play areas on our own sizeable property and also direct access to an adjacent property of 15 acres in a semi-rural setting. The service also offers an outdoor sleeping program.

Next Steps ELC is now looking for a highly competent Centre Director that can build on the solid foundations that have been laid, and take the business forward. Ideally the candidate will have a proven track-record of leadership at a similarly large service. The key requisite will be outstanding leadership skill, with the ability to manage and motivate a large and diverse workforce and, in conjunction with the leadership team, make good decisions under pressure. Bachelor trained in Early Childhood (preferred) or Diploma qualified in Early Childhood is a pre-requisite.

 This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter to make their mark in the child care industry. As Next Steps is independently owned and operated, the Centre Director will have significant autonomy to shape and grow the service in line with its foundational principles.

The Board of Next Steps ELC recognises that this is a demanding role given the size of the service, and is willing to provide a highly attractive above average salary package in order to secure the right candidate.

Next Steps Early Learning Centre is based in Waurn Ponds, in the growth area of Geelong, Victoria. The Geelong region is a great place to live and work with affordable housing, easy access to one of the world’s most live-able cities Melbourne, and easy access to some of the world’s best beaches located on the Bellarine and Surf Coast. Geelong also offers good public transport and great private and public education providers. A relocation allowance will be provided should the successful candidate need to relocate to Geelong.
