Scripture Union Queensland is a Christian not-for-profit with a heart for youth and children. We are the largest provider of school chaplains in Australia, and each chaplain is uniquely placed to support our children and young people as they navigate life’s increasingly complex issues. We run camps, community outreach events and At-Risk Youth programs, and offer nationally recognised training programs in Youth Work at both Certificate IV and Diploma levels.

Working collaboratively with churches, schools and volunteers, a Field Development Manager is responsible for leading the local delivery of SU QLD ministry through training, coaching and releasing both staff and volunteers into ministry opportunities within their district. This includes recruiting and managing a team of school Chaplains.
The ideal candidate will have
- A minimum 3 years of experience leading a team preferably within a not-for profit environment
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Diploma in Youth Work)
- Demonstrated ability to network, build partnerships and strategic alliances with a broad range of people
- A broad understanding of Christian youth and children’s ministry
- Experience and involvement in community fundraising and involvement within the Education sector is also desirable
The role covers Rockhampton, Mackay, Pioneer Valley and Bowen. Please note this role is based out of a home office with frequent travel expected. It is highly desirable for the Field Development Manager to be based within these districts.
