Bible Society Australia is currently seeking a dynamic Finance Manager for a full time maternity relief role (approximately 12-month contract). Reporting into the Group Financial Controller this is a key hands-on position in the finance team providing support for operations around Australia.

- Preparing high quality monthly management reports
- Reviewing/preparing the annual consolidated financial accounts and audit program
- Supervising key functions of the finance team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, staff credit card claims, and bank reconciliations; including entering and approving invoices, journals and payments in TechnologyOne, Netsuite and other systems
- Reviewing/preparing general ledger reconciliations, including balance sheet, fixed asset and payroll reconciliations, and ensuring that these are completed within the required timeframes
- Managing the monthly payroll process
- Preparing and reviewing tax compliance particularly in the areas of BAS, FBT, DGR donations, ACNC, and state fundraising licenses
- Administration of the main finance systems, including documentation of processes and providing training for staff where needed
- Supervision of three direct reports and providing finance support across all areas of BSA
Key Criteria:
The successful applicant will possess the following criteria:
- CA/CPA qualified, with five years’ experience
- Be adaptable by nature, and have the ability to form excellent working relationships with finance and non-finance staff
- Enjoy the detail with taking pride in accuracy
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Flexibility – able to priorities and juggle multiple tasks
- Team player and ability to achieve tight deadlines
- High level of quality assurance skills and the capacity to quickly identify, analyse and resolve problems
- Strong oral and written communication skills so that information exchange is effective with internal staff, donors, management and other stakeholders
- Advanced PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs, in particular Excel
- Proven Office / Staff Management skills desirable
- Experience with TechnologyOne and/or Netsuite software desirable
