Description:
Orange Christian School is a strong, well-resourced, co-educational, Prep -12 school of around 370 students, located in the beautiful Central West region of NSW. Orange is an elegant town of 40,000 people, about 250 kms west of Sydney.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a well-established and positive Christian educational community into its next phase of development. He or she will be a committed Christian with a very clear understanding of Christian Education according to the CEN model. Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, together with the ability to wisely lead and guide a competent and committed team in a warm, relational, community-focused leadership style are all essential to the role.

The successful applicant will be committed to the school’s vision and mission and the three core pillars of: Christian Discipleship, Academic Excellence and Parent Partnership. They will be able to subscribe to the OCS Statement of Faith.

Commencement:

It is expected that the new Principal will commence in January 2020, but a later date is negotiable.

Requirements:
The successful applicant will be required to lead an educational community that in all elements of its practice reflects a Biblical worldview, encourages students in wisdom and discernment, nurtures their faith and enables their thoughtful and responsible service in the world.
The applicant will demonstrate in their expression of interest, therefore, that he or she is:

  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of their local church.
  • A visionary and strategic leader with a heart for and a clear understanding of Christian Education in the CEN model.
  • Committed to building and sustaining academic excellence and educational ‘best practice.’
  • An experienced and successful leader in a Prep to Year 12 school.
  • A relational leader with strong team building and mentoring skills.
  • A culture builder within the school and the wider community, with demonstrated experience in working well with parents and the wider community.
  • A competent, professional manager in areas such as budgeting, staffing, planning and policy.
