This is a Senior Position at the College and the successful applicant would be accountable to the College Headmaster through the Deputy Headmaster and Director of Teaching and Learning 7-12. The successful applicant would be a teacher with teaching experience and qualifications suitable for such a leadership role. It is a diverse role involving supervision of teachers of TAS, Textiles, Food Tech, Hospitality, Multi-media, Wood and other Technology subjects.

The Technology Coordinator will largely be responsible for the development of Teaching and Learning within the Technology subject areas along with administrative duties associated with the role. They will also have a well-developed understanding of the day-to-day running of the wider Faculty and the organisational roles within it.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Leadership of the Technology team including recommendations for staff development and professional learning 
  • Assume the role of Director of Teaching and Learning 7-12 if required
  • Attend Senior Management meetings and College events including some evenings, weekends and non-term time activities as required
  • Work with the Director of Teaching and Learning 7-12 in developing the College Educational Framework within the Technology Learning Area
  • Develop and advocate for the importance of STEM within the broader College community

Administration

  • Coordinate the day-to-day management and leadership of the Technology Faculty
  • Preparation and completion of regulatory documentation for the technology subjects, including the management of specific risks associated with technology subjects
  • Programming and development of the Technology subjects in line with NESA requirements 
  • Management of the Technology student reports 
  • Management of the Technology Budgets and resources

Other Teaching and Learning

  • Exemplary classroom teaching 
  • Development and monitoring of the differentiated curriculum for all Technology subject areas 
  • Coordinate and chair faculty meetings 
  • Overseeing quality assessment practices within the Technology subjects

Communication

  • Effective communication of and advocacy for Executive decisions
  • Strong personal presence at College community events and staff functions

Other

  • Demonstrate a willingness to attend expected College events
  • Demonstrate a willingness to contribute to co-curricular College activities. This will involve hours outside of the regular College day
